Twitching Tongues

Time to introduce you to a new band again.

Not too long ago I stumbled upon Twitching Tongues from Los Angeles. With a name like that and citing Only Living Witness as one of their influences I just needed to check that out right away. I’m a sucker for grooving hardcore with non-barking vocals, can’t help it. Incorporating influences from Type O Negative and Life Of Agony didn’t hurt either. So I did send them some really generic and utterly boring questions (apologies in advance but it was just so they could introduce themselves a bit, it’s in no way meant as a proper interview) and Taylor, who also plays guitar in Ruckus, got back to me with these answers:

So what’s happening over there?

Just the usual stuff. Enjoying life and such.

Introduce the band. Who’s Twitching Tongues?

Twitching Tongues is my brother, Colin, on vocals, me on guitar, Keith Paull from Creatures on bass, Walter Delgado from Rotting Out on guitar and our friend Mike Cessario on drums.

How would you describe the music you’re playing? Something like Only Living Witness and Type O Negative jamming together?

Yeah we love those bands. We also love stuff like Cave In, Crowbar, Merauder and Coheed and Cambria. We try to let our influences come from any direction.

What’s coming up for you guys?

We’re going to play locally as much as possible and do a short tour with Expire from the Midwest this summer. We’ve got tons of music written and would like to get this band rolling.

What else do the readers need to know about Twitching Tongues?

We’re just a bunch of squirrels trying to get a nut. We love hardcore and music in general, so we’re trying to do something fresh.

Anything to add?

See you on the road!
