15 other reasons why you should go to Incubate this year

After colleague xRoldx summed up 15 outstanding acts I found another 15 that need to be checked out. Less than a week to go this will be an Incubate that gives  you heartbreaking shows in special spots of bands that you haven’t seen yet! Or you’ll end up in a bar where a silly indie band is playing and you are missing a hot show because you arrived too late at the venue.

1. Hella Comet. Uplifting mix of alternative rock and grunge with female vocals from Austria, after Noorderslag for the first time playing in the Netherlands. Give them the support they need!

2. Throats. The Metal/Hardcore band from the UK is back from the death and now at Incubate to spread disorder and disease. I have no clue if they determined they gonna exist longer so be sure to check out their noisy attacks.

3. AnD. Very industrial techno (Justin Broadrick from Godflesh even did a remix) in one of the most industrial cities of Brabant must be a very good combination. Dance all night long with these Mancunians.

4. Toner Low. Stoner Doom Maniacs from Leiden are still going strong with their weed infused slow pounding and grooving stonerrock. Also their breaks are tight as fuck.

5. Shining. Mix Refused alike screams with Jazz (the Saxophone) & Metal and you have Shining. The album ‘Blackjazz’ is a modern classic and a new album is on the rise. Below the first released song from the new LP:

6. Camera. Berlin minimalist krautrockers go back in time while standing with their sound in the future. Shake your hips all the way through their show.

7. Jessica93. Check out the interview on SWNK here and dance like a zombie on DIY songs of Jessica93.

8. Grave Pleasures. Beastmilk and The Oath are death; long live Grave Pleasures. With a new record almost landed let’s see if they can expand the success of Beastmilk on Incubate.

9. Nate Hall On Neurot Records bringing out records and being a singer songwriter means one thing: dark and gloomy songs. The voice of Nate Hall is one of kind and will attract an audience from different scenes.

10.All For Nothing. The band from the Rotterdam area is alive and kicking for a longtime and bringing their positive hardcore all over the world. Finally it is time to take over Incubate.

11.Brutus. Belgium three-piece with drummer/vocalist Stefanie as the explosive center of the band has risen the last year in the underground of Belgium and the Netherlands. With three 7 inches under their belts a new album is upcoming. With every show improving I can’t wait for this album full of Punk, Hardcore and Stoner Metal.

12.Sleep Kit. Good old Nineties Emo from Maastricht is not something you will expect at Incubate. Luckily they got a spot on the festival.

13.Ukandanz. Ethiopian Rock is not something you expect it will exist. Ukandanz’ sound is bouncing back and forth with African energetic vocals and will end the festival in a blast at Sunday night.

14.The Black Heart Rebellion. In 2012 the Post-hardcore band went into experimental mode with ‘Har Nevo’. Tribal rhythms entered the room. Last year it was quiet so will they be back soon with a new album? Let’s see if new songs are played on this year’s festival.

15.Sun Worship. Black Metal and a band picture of university guys isn’t promising. Step over that prejudice and drench yourself in a trance inducing Black Metal set not unlike Wolves in the Throne Room.

This is only a very small list. In total 250 bands will play Incubate in the week of 14 till 20 September. Go visit Incubate for the whole line-up. There are day tickets available as well as free shows for those not able to spend a lot of cash.
